A strong track record in safe delivery
The Leighton Asia North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link Segment 10.1 project team in the Philippines has established a strong track record for its safety performance while concurrently achieving very high targets in both quality and production.
The NLEX project has remained LTI-free since commencement and the team has chalked up six million safe man hours without lost-time incident (LTI) in December 2016.
The project commenced in October 2014 and the scope of work includes the construction of 5.6 kilometres of elevated highway from McArthur Highway to C3 Road with provisions for future expansion to a 6-lane divided elevated expressway.
The NLEX project has remained LTI-free since commencement and the team has chalked up six million safe man hours without lost-time incident (LTI) in December 2016. This great achievement was recognised by our client, the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MTNC) and representatives of the Philippines' Department of Labour and Employment.
Among the many hazards managed by the project, the team is particularly proud of the controls adopted for managing the risk associated with working at height, people and plant separation and temporary works. The team fully embraces safety as a core value and has adopted best safety practice used on other projects.
