Leighton Asia was proud to receive the ‘Outstanding Infrastructure Project Award’ recently at the Build4Asia Awards 2022 Presentation Ceremony for the Liantang / Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point project in Hong Kong.
Build4Asia Awards recognise projects’ excellence in sustainability in terms of green designs and contractors’ environmental practices.
About the winning project:
Key green elements of the project include:
- Low-E glass, adopted to allow natural lights pass through, saving daytime light usage.
- The adoption of green roofing on multiple buildings to mitigate heat gain from sunlight to reduce energy consumption for cooling.
- Natural ventilation through the incorporation of unobstructed air flows, high floor-ceiling heights, inclined roofing and extensive sun-shading. This reduces forced ventilation and cooling requirements.
- Power savings by using air-quality controlled ventilation systems within the public transport interchange.
The award is a collaborative effort from all parties involved in the delivery of this project. Thank you and congratulations to the project team on this great result.
