Leighton Asia’s North-South Corridor (NSC) N103 Joint Venture in Singapore has assisted and supported the client to design, fit-out and operate the Project Information Centre (PIC) of the NSC project as part of the Contract.
Spanning 21.5 km, the NSC will be the longest integrated transport corridor featuring dedicated bus lanes, cycling truck routes and pedestrian paths, connecting the northern region to the city.
The PIC is setup to showcase NSC project to the general public and potentially serve as an avenue to host local and foreign dignitaries. The PIC key exhibits consist of the NSC alignment map, project progress, project challenges models, geological conditions, and a virtual drive-through via Computer Aided Virtual Environment (CAVE). The team had coordinated with other 12 civil contracts to deliver this informative and digitized PIC for the client.
Special shout-out to the BIM team that had worked closely with the client to stitch up the BIM models from the other contracts for the client to develop the drive-through via CAVE. Through this “mini project”, the BIM team has also learned new skills and familiarized themselves with the CAVE which is an excellent digital tool for design coordination.
Our project has adopted many digital tools to streamline and enhance our work process, including the Strive for L.I.F.E app and the virtual reality safety training. It is pleased to see our team continues to push the boundary and explore new ways to create enhanced experiences for our client and community.
